Passo Stelvio, one of the highest, most spectacular and greatest mountain passes, should definitely be on yours or any cyclist’s bucket list. Climbing the pass from either side provides awesome scenery and challenging riding. The most popular option is to begin in Bormio which is only 3 hours’ drive from Lake Como. My clients mostly prefer a two-day guided tour leaving Como early in the morning, climbing the 34 switchbacks, overnighting in Bormio, and then climbing the equally impressive Passo Gavia the following morning, with a drive back to Como in the early afternoon. I offer other ways to enjoy the climbing in this area, so please be in touch if you have particular ideas and we can arrange a package.

Pietro - Laya and I just wanted to send you a quick email letting you know we had such an amazing time riding with you last week in Lake Como. It was truly one of the big highlights of our entire honeymoon!

Pietro, I wanted to let you know that I had a fantastic ride! I tried to follow “The Border Run” route you describe on your website as best I could and it was tough and awesome. The bike was perfect, the weather was perfect, the place was perfect!

Pietro, you put on an outstanding ride for our little group. The ability to join three guys that will never meet otherwise, putting us together for the ride was very cool. Being my first time to the area I was nervous. You put me at ease and we just rode. It was perfect.

I am still speechless! That was one of the most amazing days - we both had such a fantastic time. We loved the very different views and conditions on the west vs east side of the lake. We also enjoyed the many stops for coffee, lunch and walks amongst the shops. I loved it so much I was ready to do another loop!
